Eve Bergman plays with the lines and contours of a landscape, the sky, the people and animals until a unifying rhythm becomes visible that seems to follow an overarching choreography.
The perception and depiction of a dance-like quality of the universal interplay of lines, surfaces and movement - sometimes to the point of abstraction - becomes a synonym for beauty and serenity in her painting.
The lightness and precision of her brushwork are based on her knowledge of Zen painting.
The multi-layered colors that flow into one another and radiate as if from an inner light she achieves with pure color pigments, prepared according to the tradition of fresco painting.
“The works of Eve Bergman vibrate with dynamism and liveliness. Her art of painting has something deeply musical. The powerful stroke in her pictures seems to have sprung from the dance.” (Sasha Waltz – Choreographer, Dancer, Artistic Director Berlin State Ballet)
