// STABLE FRAGILITY // Solo //
SIGRÚN ÓLAFSDÓTTIR //
SIGRÚN ÓLAFSDÓTTIR, the prominent sculptor from Iceland (just awarded the Albert-Weißgerber-Prize), keeps finding new objects that make a seemingly impossible balance possible.
Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, SIGRÚN ÓLAFSDÓTTIR studied Fine Arts in Reykjavik and Saarbrücken, Germany.
She is experimenting with various materials such as woods, steel, caoutchouc, latex, ink and paper. Whether her sculptures fill entire squares or can be held in one hand, they always speak of a high awareness of fragility.
// RECONCILING OPPOSITES // Solo // VOJTĚCH MÍČA //
VOJTĚCH MÍČA brings together materials and techniques that rarely meet in an art value like bronze and concrete, resins and steel, complex carving and utility iron.
He creates works of great intensity that are at once delicate and brutal, peaceful and threatening, repellent and inviting, or elegant and chunky.
Born in Prague, Czech Republic, VOJTĚCH MÍČA studied Fine Arts in Prague (where he now leads the sculpture department) and Karlsruhe, Germany.
Some of his works, like for the international open air art show “Sculpture by the Sea, Sydney, Australia”, are huge, others have a much smaller size.
A thought, which is more of a feeling, might be, as the artist puts it, “that behind all the existing back and forth and up and down, there could be a calm and clear order.”
// LITTLE PRAYERS // Solo //
EVE BERGMAN //
In a simultaneously delicate and profound colorfulness, applied with dance-like lightness, EVE BERGMAN tells of the transitions and entanglements of a world in eternal motion.
EVE BERGMAN, born in Münster, Westphalia, raised in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she received a profound artistic training from von Malotki, a master student of Joseph Beuys.
Master Artium in Art History, Sinology and Latin American Studies at Free University of Berlin, Germany.
Longer stays abroad for study purposes in the People’s Republic of China (zen painting), Taiwan, Ecuador, Spain and Italy (fresco painting).
Her first public exhibition brings her 2015 to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Beijing, VR China.
